Description

Ashish Kushwaha (b. 1987) is a contemporary Indian artist whose practice reflects on the urgent tensions between human development and the natural world. He completed his Bachelor of Fine Arts from I.K.S.V.V. Khairagarh, and in 2017 was recognized with an award from the Art Foundation in Mumbai.

Kushwaha’s work often takes the “concrete jungle” as its point of departure, examining the ways in which rapid urbanization, industrialization, and consumer culture alter landscapes and affect collective well-being. Through his paintings and mixed-media explorations, he brings attention to pressing issues such as global warming, ecological imbalance, and the social consequences of environmental neglect. His visual language blends observation with metaphor, creating imagery that urges viewers to pause and reflect on the fragility of the ecosystems that sustain us.

By weaving environmental and social concerns into his art, Kushwaha positions himself as both witness and commentator—an artist whose work invites dialogue on sustainability and our shared responsibility toward the planet.
